VW Golf R will be racing into showrooms early next year priced from $37,415. The pricing is comparable with the previous generation, although the vehicle no longer comes in the less expensive three-door bodystyle, but there is a lot more performance and tech on offer.
All 2015 Golf Rs come with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 292 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, and paired with a six-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission. That’s up 36 hp and 37 lb-ft on the previous generation’s figures, and is enough to rocket the car from 0-60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. Top speed is 155 mph.
